Father’s Day comes full circle for me, partly because I spent much of my teenage years tweaking UV Blood Irradiation (UBI) machines with my dad.
We then noticed that a lot of the doctors offering UBI were doing ozone therapy too, because they observed the benefits with their patients. Yet, at the time, the cost was prohibitive for home users or even small clinics.
So, with the skills and knowledge we learned from our previous venture, we set off to make ozone therapy affordable and the relevant knowledge accessible.
Backstory aside, I want to talk about how dads currently raising young kids could have it worse health-wise than our parents' generations.
We’re experiencing age-related physical decline much earlier than our parents. Generations of worsening nutrition and ongoing toxic exposures manifest in conditions like:
- Hypertension
- Insulin resistance and diabetes
- Elevated cardiovascular risk
- Subfertility and infertility
- Low energy and motivation
- Digestive issues
- Chronic pain
Being men, we tend to be the last to take care of ourselves or even respond to nagging discomfort. Self care feels like an inconvenience where everything else—kids, wife, work, social responsibilities—feels more important. It’s easy to tie your self worth to your productivity, but being a present and healthy dad matters, too.
Sadly, staying healthy as a dad is akin to swimming upstream. If you do nothing for your health, things go downhill fast.
So, remember that ozone therapy can help with…
- Normalizing excess oxidative stress that contribute to most issues mentioned above
- Improving the gut flora, thus improving overall digestive health [1]
- Improving blood sugar control
- Nitric oxide production, which can help with blood pressure and in the bedroom [2]
- Anti-aging, not just to prevent wrinkles but to keep you around and well for your kids longer [3]
- Athletic performance and recovery
- Pain management (with robust evidence to back it up)
- Immune responses and frequent illnesses
That said, [nutrition], exercise, social connections, and sleep are still crucial for any health goal you may have that could be complemented with ozone therapy.
Ozone therapy at home takes only a few minutes and may deliver an immediate boost in energy and wellbeing, among other benefits. It can often be a jumpstart for classic couch potatoes to have more energy to start other health habits, or be more present dads.
On the other hand, IV ozone therapy in the clinic, like autohemotherapy, can take 30 - 40 minutes and deliver a great deal of systemic benefits.
This Father’s Day and Men’s Health Week, remember to take care of yourself.
